Association’s Mission:

California Primary Care Association's mission is to lead and position community clinics, health centers, and networks through advocacy, education, and services as key players in the healthcare delivery system to improve the health status of their communities.


Purpose of Position:

The Program Coordinator of Health Professions Education & Training is responsible for developing subject matter expertise and producing training and technical assistance that enhance the capabilities of community health centers and CPCA members to advance the strategic priorities of the Association. In coordination with and support from leadership, this position may provide subject matter expertise in regulatory and legislative advocacy efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as internal workforce subject matter expert and manage the development and implementation of educational resources and training opportunities (including webinars, in-person workshops and conference events, toolkits and manuals, newsletter articles and/or brochures, web content, etc.) for health centers and consortia on the topic area of health professions education and training.
  2. Support the assessment of, and provide technical assistance and training to, community health centers to increase the number of clinics that train future healthcare professionals.
  3. Ensure successful implementation of workforce grant requirements and deliverables.
  4. Coordinate and support workforce-specific peer networks, workgroups, and/or task forces by scheduling, supporting, leading, facilitating, communicating with members, and preparing content and presentations for meetings. Ensure content aligns with CPCA’s strategic plan, training and technical assistance, and regulatory/legislative agenda.
  5. Collaborate with supervisor and grant/development staff to deliver on grant-funded deliverables and prepare information for grant reports to support association goals and meet funder guidelines and criteria.
  6. Work with cross-departmental teams and external stakeholders to raise awareness and advocate for health center interests, including reviewing policy and performing administrative advocacy, as assigned and in coordination with supervisor.
  7. Represent the Association externally by liaising with key stakeholders and maintaining relationships. Attend and possibly present as needed at other agency and partners’ events.
  8. Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities Required:
  1. Support the development and delivery of projects, programs, and technical assistance, to improve the efficiencies of health centers’ activities.
  2. Learn specific content areas and serve as a resource to provide accurate and timely technical assistance.
  3. Strong project and program management expertise including implementation and evaluation.
  4. Serve as a lead staff member to designated peer networks, work groups, task forces, and committees.
  5. Strong interpersonal and professional skills when engaging with Association membership, Board of Directors, vendors, and partners.
  6. Effective problem solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  7. Deliver accurate and concise written and oral communication.
  8. Ability to create presentations, reports, and materials that engage and inform health centers and stakeholders.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications and platforms.
  10. Work collaboratively with leadership and multi-departmental teams.
  11. Anticipate and resolve problems on own initiative.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Association’s Strategic Plan.
  2. Attends and participates in required Association meetings.
  3. Reports regularly to supervisor.
  4. Travel for national and regional meetings, trainings, and site visits by air and ground transportation.
  5. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum two years of project or program management experience. Experience with community health centers, member-driven associations, or non-profit organizations is also preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

Hybrid Expectation:

Due to network security and hybrid work this position requires the employee to have a cell phone with a data plan and home internet service, both are reimbursed at a set rate each month. All hires are required to maintain residence in California. This is a hybrid position with employees coming into the office in downtown Sacramento.

Compensation: $69,613 - $73,708
